My Favorite Fashion Trend November 2015: Dressy Sneakers
I’m a girl that is dressy. There was a period when I was about ten years old that I lived in jeans, (really lived in them, slept and everything), but once I entered junior high I started to prefer skirts and dresses.
I noticed today that a lot of the outfits I put together are dressy. To mix it up I’m trying to get some more casual looks. In doing so I came across another trend that works for girly girls like me.

I call them “dressy sneakers” because they can be dressed either up or down. They are great for business casual office looks or get togethers with friends. Another reason I like them is because they provide a fresh alternative to the Ugg boot.
One of my favorite brands is Isabel Marant. If you can afford to break the bank for a check, they are a great choice. I have created outfits such as A Wait For the Bus (casual) and Business Casual Day at the Office (dressier). As I said, you may have to dig into your savings for these shoes because one pair will set you back around $500 at least. It’s worth it though!
If you’re on a tight budget, never fear. There are alternative, more affordable brands to create the same dressy sneaker look. Some suggestions are:
Skechers is a popular brand with shoe designs that have expanded beyond traditional sneakers.
A number of different styles and designs are well suited for any purpose, from simple fashion to functional. They’re practical for the winter with a fashion twist.
As far as sneakers go, some of my favorites include the Atomic – Magnetize for $60.00(see my outfit Just Going to The Store), and the very colorful Skechers Women’s EZ Flex 2 Tah-Dah in Black/Multi for $62.00 (showcased in A Pop of Color).
Steve Madden is another favorite shoe brand that has shoes for every woman’s personal style. According to the website, the brand “represents a lifestyle…embracing fashion while still maintaining that funky independence that defined the brand 20 years ago.”
In addition to dressier shoes, Steve Madden produces boots and sneakers at affordable prices under $100. My favorite styles are the Steve Madden Women’s Decaf Sneakers which I put in my outfit Casual Movie Night and the Steve Madden Women’s Lagoon Sandals Sneakers which I worked into my Going To The Mall outfit.
I had a great time exploring sneakers this month. At work I’m required to wear sneakers because my job is active. Girls like me can see that even when wearing sneakers, it’s still possible to be cute!
